My wife, Linda, and I moved to Tampa in the fall of 1996. I grew up in Riverview, a small town 20 miles south of Tampa, but had been out of the area since January of 1984.

We both love the weather and the area. We both have good jobs and are very happy here. This is now our home.

Gasparilla Parade -Februray 13, 1999

We attended that Gasparilla Parade on February 13, 1999 in downtown Tampa, FL. My wife Linda and my brother Darrin and I had a great time.

Ybor City is an area of club and restaurants which was founded in 1886 by Vicente Martinez Ybor, Ybor City became "the cigar capital of the world" by 1900.

One of our favorite clubs is the Blues Ship Cafe. A great blues club. We saw Percy Strother in July of 1997. He put on a good show and the entire band signed a CD for us. We had a great time. Here are the particulars:

The area hosts numerour events. The largest is "Guavaween". Held every October, it is a combination of a block party and a Halloween Party. The entire area is blocked off and they have several outdoor stages with well known bands performing.
