JASON YEE Actor/Filmmaker

Jason Yee studied filmmaking, writing & painting at Museum School of Fine Arts in Boston, Massachusetts College of Art and UCLA. He began studying acting at Collinge/Pickman in Harvard Square Cambridge, Massachusetts. Jason primarily considers himself an actor/filmmaker from the school of life. From the start Jason took a very independent approach purchasing his own 16mm movie cameras which he then shot and directed several short films.

Along with being a filmmaker & actor Jason is also a renowned Kung-fu / Kickboxing champion. He has represented the US in two World Championships and was inducted into the coveted Inside KungFu Magazines Hall Of Fame and the W.K.F. Jason set out to combine his filmmaking, acting, and martial arts talents. Inspired by Robert Rodriguezs movie El Mariachi & actor Clint Eastwood, Jason became determined to defy the odds by making a low-budget action movie his first feature film. From his martial arts gym in Boston he trained several top-fighters while persevering to find financing for his feature titled Edge of Darkness. In 2001 production began, by using his martial arts discipline & determination he was able to shoot the film for under $100K over three years in his hometown of Boston. After post-production, the film found distribution through CinemaVault Releasing and HartSharp Video. The title was changed to Dark Assassin. The film went to on gain recognition in the NY, Chicago & New England Film Festivals & Cannes Film Market.

Jason is now living in Los Angeles, studying with acting coach Leigh Kilton Smith, and continuing his career rise. Jasons talent has caught the attention of several prominent producers.  Currently, Jason is set to star in three films now in pre-production & development with Producer Terence Chang & John Woo  Lion Rock Productions (Mission Impossible-2, Paycheck), LJ films (Korea), and CinemaVault Releasing  (Canada).
